Block Party At The Park
Another Sisters Academy Success
Hula hooping, dancing, spinning the money wheel, and bidding on auction prizes were just a few of the many amusing and entertaining things to experience while attending this year’s “Block Party At The Park” on Thursday, April 14. The Block Party Committee’s creative talents and genuine exuberance once again, lit up the night at Montgomery Park to benefit the students of Sisters Academy of Baltimore.
The evening festivities, set in a casual “neighborhood” theme, offered party-goers a relaxed gathering with great food, wine, beer, music, and of course games, not to mention the opportunity to laugh and catch-up with old and new friends alike!
One of the best moments of the evening began when the “street” lights dimmed and all eyes focused on the big screen for the premier of “A Journey to Success,” the new Sisters Academy video. In four quick minutes, the audience was mesmerized by the heartfelt and gratifying testimonials from students, teachers, alumnae, parents, and friends. Each offered every possible reason for why they love this spirited, innovative, and transformative middle school for girls. And yes, their stories ended with the invitation for all to visit their school.
The Block Party was an evening to raise funds for Sisters Academy as well as a gathering that expressed appreciation to all who support the school. Students, parent volunteers, board members, and the Party committee made every effort to extend their friendly hospitality to all 250 guests. Personal thanks were acknowledged to the attendees throughout the evening, and especially to those who purchased raffle tickets, took a chance to “Catch the Spirit,” placed a winning bid at the auction tables, and granted gifts to “Wish Upon A Star.” It was clear — Sisters Academy wanted to say “Thank You” in a fun, big way!
Directed by a generous, talented, outstanding volunteer committee, the friendly “neighborhood” theme truly inspired the Party’s success. Their tremendous teamwork produced an entertaining event while shining the spotlight on both the students and the generous support of “Block Party” sponsors. This year’s sponsors provided contributions ranging from $5,000 – $500, as well as those who donated in-kind gifts.
By measure of smiles and “thank you’s” expressed as party-goers exited the evening’s festivities, it is safe to say that the Block Party At The Park was another successful Sisters Academy night to remember.
One thing we know for sure, thanks to the Block Party support, Sister Academy students will continue on their journey to success. We greatly appreciate all who participated and supported the Block Party At The Park.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
